GELBVIEH GENETICS MAKING THEIR MARK IN THE NT!

Some exciting news from the Northern Territory, with a little bit of Gelbvieh history made in Alice Springs!

On 4 July 2026, the first Gelbvieh × Droughtmaster bulls were offered at the Alice Springs All Breeds Bull Sale — and they certainly made an impression.

Three Gelbvieh x Droughmaster bulls were presented, achieving:

• V1732, by Kevlor Stirred — $9,000

• V1745, by Kevlor Shakin — $8,000

• V1547 — $6,000, selling shortly after being passed in

The $9,000 top-priced Gelbvieh x Droughtmaster equalled the price achieved by the highest-selling Black Angus bull from South Australia on the day, with the overall sale topping at $17,000 for a Hereford bull.

It is fantastic to see Gelbvieh genetics being put to work in northern Australian conditions and attracting buyer interest in the sale ring.
